Check out this video on UTube if you don’t know what Treibball is.
Are you ready to join us on an exciting adventure with your furry friend? Treibball is the latest canine sport that everyone is talking about. Treibball offersa perfect mix of mental and physical stimulation for your dog.
An introductory training – 4 x 45 minute, group sessions on Sunday afternoons. See dates below.
These 4 sessions will introduce you and your dog to the Treibball sport, but more importantly you and your dog will have lots of new skills to learn and challenges to work towards.
The course will cover the foundation Treibball commands, (see the list below) and teach you and your dog how to get good control over pushing the ball.
Worried your dog will want to ‘bite’ the ball? Well don’t be – we start with unburstable balls as your dog learns the excitement and fun that can be had by ‘pushing’ the ball with their nose.
If you haven’t heard of Treibball yet, you’re in for a treat! Check out this video on UTube to see this fun activity in action. We won’t be getting to this level in just 4 sessions, but this is what we’re working towards.
Treibball, also known as “urban herding,” is a fun sport where dogs push large inflatable balls into a goal using their nose and body. Originating in Germany, Treibball was designed to channel the natural herding instincts of dogs, particularly herding breeds like Border Collies and Shepherds.
However, it’s a fantastic activity for any dog, regardless of breed or size. It teaches calm, controlled behaviour, improves/advances good behaviour commands, and builds a strong bond between you and your dog.
– **Exercise and Mental Stimulation:** Treibball is a great way to keep your dog physically active and mentally challenged. Your dog has to do a lot of ‘thinking’ while working in partnership with you.
– **Strengthens Bond:** Working together as a team in Treibball strengthens your relationship with your dog, building trust and communication.
– **Suitable for All Dogs:** Whether you have a high-energy herding breed, a ball-obsessed dog, or just want to try something new, Treibball is perfect for all dogs. It’s inclusive and adaptable to skill levels.
– **Pushing a Ball:** Teach your dog the skill of pushing a ball with control.
– **Calmness Around Balls:** Help your dog stay composed and focused around balls.
– **Straight Line Pushing:** Master the technique of pushing a ball in a straight line.
-**Lining Up With You:**Teach your dog to line up with you, before pushing the ball.
– **Mat Work:** Improve or teach your dog mat work.
– **Essential Commands:** Learn commands like Down, Stand, Backwards Walking, Come By, and Away.
– **Competition Skills:** Get ready for some friendly competition

If you’re like me, when you’re in class with your dog, there’s only so much information you hear. You’re so busy concentrating on your dog, you miss a lot of what’s been said.
A gundog training I did with Lez Graham, included a long teabreak without the dogs. So much learning took place in that time.
It’s great to be able to chat to each other, without worrying about our dogs. For peope whose dogs need a bit of space, it’s opportunity to talk freely to like minded people.
If you own a dog or a puppy, or even spend a lot of time looking after a dog or puppy, then this is for you.
Understand your dog better.
We used to call the workshop, ‘Learn to Speak Dog’ and that’s exactly what we’re aiming to do.
Interactive, fun session with just 4 people in a group.
Sharing, honestly, the mistakes we make with our dogs and learning how to change unwanted behaviour into wanted behaviour.
Learn more about how your dog thinks. What goes on in their head. The more you understand your dog, the quicker it is to pick up when the wrong behaviours are beginning to show and why they are happening.
This workshop is for everyone who owns a dog or just loves dogs.
You owe it to your pooch to ‘learn to speak dog,’ after all, your dog does his/her best to learn to speak human.
Whether you have a behaviour in your dog that you would like to change or if you just want to understand your dog better and grow a stronger and deeper bond.
2 hour workshop, without your dog
A small, friendly group of no more than 6 people.
