Finally, a Way to Channel Your Dog’s Natural Instincts Into Something Amazing
Join us for our Treibball Introduction Session
Saturday 13th June, 2-4pm | Hedge End, Southampton
Your German Shepherd, Border Collie, or other herding breed is incredibly intelligent, but…
❌ They’re restless and constantly looking for ‘more’
❌ They try to “herd” you as a family
❌ You’re worried about too much ball throwing
❌ You would love to give them a “job” but not sure what or how
Every dog needs a ‘job’ to do. Even the best-behaved herding dog still has those powerful herding instincts bubbling under the surface. They NEED an outlet for what they were bred to do.
Imagine your dog using their natural herding instincts to push large exercise balls into a goal – just like they would move sheep, but in a controlled, purposeful way. That’s Treibball!
It’s not just exercise. It’s not just training.
It’s giving your dog the chance to channel their natural instinct
Seventeen years ago, (before I became a dog trainer) I was at breaking point with my Flatcoated Retriever, Rolo. He was completely out of control – so strong on the lead that walking him made me cry. We were kicked out of TWO local training classes for disruption. I couldn’t let him off the lead because he’d chase every dog in sight. And let’s not get started on deer.
Someone introduced me to training that worked WITH his natural instincts instead of against them. Even after the first session, the transformation was incredible. I could let him off the lead again – he actually WANTED to be with me, as long as I provided for his needs.
We went on to earn our Working Gundog Certificate together. Rolo lived happily to 14, and we had an amazing bond built through sharing activities that challenged and channelled his natural instincts.
That transformation changed my life so much, and it’s why I became a professional dog trainer. Now, with 15 years of experience, I help other dogs and owners discover this same magic.
(And yes, I now have Jack – my current “marginally more nuts” Flatcoat who started proper training from day one! 😂)

Our sessions typically fill up quickly because word spreads fast when dogs start showing these amazing transformations.
Don’t let another day pass watching your intelligent dog wondering how best to use their talent.
Your herding breed has been waiting their whole life for this opportunity. They deserve to use the incredible instincts they were born with.
Absolutely! This is an introductory session designed for complete beginners. We start with the basics and build from there. Most dogs take to it naturally because we’re working with their instincts.
While herding breeds especially love Treibball, any breed can participate and benefit. Every dog deserves to use their natural abilities!
Treibball is actually excellent for building confidence in anxious dogs. The controlled environment and purposeful activity often helps dogs feel more secure and focused. We have plenty of space, but please do get in touch for a chat first.
We provide the hardwearing balls for the introductory session. You’ll receive an email giving full details of what to bring, but also some preparation work to do with your dog, before the session.
If you and your dog love it (and most do!), we hope to offer ongoing Treibball training sessions to develop your skills further.
