If you’ve ever been to a class with your dog, you’ll know this feeling:
You’re so busy concentrating on your dog that you only half-hear what’s being said.
This workshop removes that pressure.
No leads.
No distractions.
No worrying about what your dog is doing.
Just time and space to properly understand dogs — how they think, why they behave the way they do, and what we can change before problems become habits, or how to change habits.
Some of the most valuable learning I’ve ever done happened without dogs present — including a gundog training course where the biggest breakthroughs came during a long, dog-free tea break.
That’s the spirit of this workshop.
This workshop is for:
Dog owners who want to understand their dog better
Puppy owners who want to get things right early
People who help care for dogs and want more confidence
Owners whose dogs need space — but they still want support
Anyone who loves dogs and wants a deeper, calmer relationship with them
You don’t need a “problem dog” to attend.
Curiosity is enough.
We used to call this workshop “Learn to Speak Dog” — and that’s still exactly the aim.
Dogs are constantly communicating with us.
Most behaviour problems start because we miss the early signals.
This workshop helps you:
spot what your dog is already telling you
understand why behaviours start in the first place
respond earlier, calmer, and more effectively
During this relaxed, interactive session, we’ll cover:
How dogs think and make decisions
Why dogs do what they do (and why it makes sense to them)
How unwanted behaviours develop
How to change behaviour without force or confrontation
How to prevent problems becoming habits
The importance of mental stimulation/brainwork
How habits and associations shape behaviour
What owners commonly do (with the best intentions) that accidentally causes problems
There’s plenty of discussion, shared experiences, and honesty — including the mistakes we all make as dog owners.
Expect learning, insight, and laughter.
2-hour workshop
Without your dog
Maximum of 4 people
Small, friendly, adult group
Plenty of time for questions and discussion
This is not a lecture.
It’s a conversation — guided by professional experience.
Because your dog spends their whole life trying to understand you.
This is your chance to return the favour.
Whether you want to change a behaviour, prevent future problems, or simply build a stronger bond — this workshop gives you the understanding that makes everything else easier.
Want to put this understanding into practice with your dog?
Some people prefer to combime the learning and practicing with their dog. If that’s you, check out our
