The Power Of Your Dog’s Nose

Did you know your dog’s nose is so powerful it can detect a single teaspoon of sugar in a million gallons of water? Just imagine what incredible adventures are waiting for you and your dog.

How Your Dog Uses Their Nose Daily

Your dog will use their nose for many reasons.

  • To learn about the environment
  • To detect danger
  • To find out who/what has been here before
  • To find tasty morsels
  • To feel more relaxed and comfortable when anxious
  • To find out where you’ve been without him/her
  • To find out the time

Give your dog opportunity to use their nose with purpose. Join us for some fun courses.

What is Tracking all about?

As with all nosework, it’s about your dog learning what smell they are supposed to concentrate on. It’s a great confidence builder, as your dog’s nose now has a purpose.

Your dog needs a purpose, just as much as you do.

Different dogs will work differently with their nose. Some dogs concentrate heavily on the ground. Others, such as Flatcoats and Golden Retrievers will make more use of air scent. Watch your dog when they pick up a scent.
