The training is fantastic. You are usually in groups of about 6 other dogs. The trainer's make time for one 2 one conversations and and advice. Family's also attended the course, which is great for socialising. The location is on a farm, which is a bit of a tip. You'll need Welly boots as it can get muddy, and old trousers as the dogs my jump up on you.

I travelled from Northern Ireland to complete "Train the Trainer Course" I cant recommend the Academy high enough. I am now running very successful Dog/Puppy classes. Sandra and her staff are brilliant. their knowledge and know how is second to none. They are very professional and passionate about the work they do which comes across in their training. If you want your dog 🐶 trained or you want to become a trainer The National Dog Training Academy Southampton is the place to go. Not only do I have a successful business, I have an extremely well trained dog "My Lacey" myself, who get compliments every time we are out.

Having been a customer of the academy for almost 8 years now I can honestly say that the dog training is excellent and you will not find better anywhere else. I have taken all three of my dogs to Sandra to various training from 1:1, obedience to agility and gun dog classes and all the classes and the trainers are excellent. Well run classes, knowledgeable, friendly and approachable trainers. Sandra is the best trainer I have been to (I have tried a few!) and trust her and her positive training approaches 100%. I would (and do) recommend to every dog owner I meet as it has improved my dogs lives no end.

Having taken my puppy to Sandra and the team for training I realised that this is what I wanted to do. The team make training fun and it works. When I heard that Sandra ran a 'train the trainer' course I knew I had to do it. It was really good - very thorough and Sandra and the team are extremely knowledgeable. After completing the course i felt confident enough to run my own classes. Sandra is always there to support me and help with anything I need further advice on. I know she has lots of happy clients who continue to take their dogs to her for training and fun.

I’ve had a great three days and can’t wait to come back! Also thank you to Karen for your expert help in the puppy class I attend, for my toy poodle puppy willow we are on week 8 Sunday and we’ve loved every part of the course with you! �

We originally signed up for 8 weeks of puppy training which proved to be instrumental in obtaining a firm foundation for good control and obedience, and also a stronger bond with our puppies. We immediately signed up for a further year of classes to progress our doggies through their Bronze and Silver awards onto their Gold, whilst learning it's as much about the handler as it is the dog. We have been impressed with the standard of knowledge and advice on hand and have thoroughly enjoyed the behaviour classes and especially the agility. We have recommended the The National Dog training Academy to friends and family and will continue to do so. When circumstances allow we will return to continue training.

Great dog trainers, we love going every weekend. The training is so good - my dog has calmed down and is learning quickly. I would highly recommend - we have been to agility training last year and now we are doing gun do training this year - both include obedience training as well.

I recently completed stage 1 of becoming a dog trainer under the guidance and instruction of Sandra and her fantastic team. Now, I didn’t record the testimonial directly after completion, not because I was sceptical, but because I wanted to get some practical work in first, and I tried it out on my own dogs at home. The results to me, having accomplished the course, have been as I expected, quite remarkable, but my wife is blown away by the results. My dogs weren’t badly behaved, but their lead walking left a lot to be desired. However, within 3 days of me starting the training the dogs have stopped pulling on their leads. The technique is kind to the dogs, and it gets them focused in no time. This course has taught me so much more than just how to train a puppy, it’s taught me how to teach a puppy’s owner, and how to make both of their lives happy and enjoyable in each other’s company. The method Sandra and her team employ, and the way it is taught is easy and is the kindest method I have seen, and the one that gets the best out of the dogs and their owners. I can’t thank Sandra enough for introducing me to this method, and I am looking forward to doing a lot more training with Sandra in the very near future

Fantastic trainers who have a passion for what they do. My 2 year old male has gained huge confidence since his focus training 5 months ago, having since gone onto behaviour and agility classes, which we both love. People now stop to say what a balanced,calm dog he is, which is all down to his classes. All breeds and all ages of dog are welcome. Highly recommend, as I was recommended to them 5 months ago, and So glad I was 😊

Having owned, shown and worked my dogs for coming up to 40 years training has always been key. I've been working with the team at The National Dog Training Academy for the last 11yrs, and have trained my last three dogs with them. Training outside is far more conducive as it provides a better opportunity for real life situations, like the numerous distractions that occur when out walking either in a field or Learning how to manage these situation just can't be done in a town hall or some other inside space. The team, somehow manage to be happy come rain (yes they train no matter what the weather) or shine. Another reason I would recommend them is their use of positive reinforcement, gone are the days of choke chains and beating a dog into submission. I have seen the team use positive reinforcement to really help people and dog. I've had a dog with fear issues and the team have been there helping me through every step. Where there are behavioural issues with dogs, I have often seen the owners give up way before the training team, who do everything in their power to help both dogs and people. They are a credit to the dog training profession.

We've had such fun at gundog training over the years. Being in a safe, confined field for training has been brilliant. It's given me and our sons the confidence to train off the lead knowing that when the dogs play up nothing can go wrong. The team are so helpful, and even when you think you've had the worst training class every they always make you end on a good note so that you and the dog(s) leave still loving each other. The other great thing is the social aspect and how everyone in the group, and even in other groups really support each other. That said it was hard getting used to training in the wet, but the sunny days certainly make up for it and the dogs really don't care about getting wet. A huge thank you to Sandra and the team.

Sandra is amasing! I was having a lot of trouble with my boy running off on the common and not paying attention. After a few 1-2-1 sessions on the common where the problem was I gained a lot more focus and attention. Have since been to other training and working with the guys for a few years now. Cannot praise highly enough for the training support given both in outdoor group sessions and on Zoom during recent increased lockdown. We also have online support with one to one Zoom chats for any issues we need help with. Our little Cavapoo puppy now 4 ½ months old, is progressing so well all down to the training support and advice which books cannot provide me with. I am gaining confidence now and beginning to feel optimistic that our puppy will grow into a well balanced, well behaved, happy and safe little dog. Huge thanks to all the team !
